In 1885, John White opened a small agency in the Town of Oak Bluffs, the Eldridge & White Insurance Agency. Over the next 125 years, through organic growth and acquisitions, the organization evolved into the Martha’s Vineyard Insurance Agency (MVI). We remain the largest insurance brokerage on the island, and in 2005, MVI merged with Starkweather & Shepley.
